That’s Nicky’s temperature at the moment.  I think it is related to the flu shot he got on Saturday, at any rate the timing seems coincidental.  The fever started about mid-morning yesterday and the little flu shot handout says that if a child is going to have a reaction it’ll happen shortly after receiving the flu shot and can last up to 2 days.  Well, we are just hitting the 24 hour mark of symptoms starting.  Poor kiddo.  He spiked up to 103.8 around 10:30 last night.  Tylenol seems to be doing a better job keeping his temp down than does Motrin.

I’m working from home and he’s watching TV.  Nothing like a full day of Dora and Diego to keep him busy.  Though, that’s pretty much what the kids did yesterday — we skipped Uncle John’s birthday party.  We were actually munching on McyDs in the car and about 1/3 of the way there when Nicky just broke down in tears and I figured it’d be best if we spent the day at home.  :-)

We did manage to get the kids their flu shots (Carlo will need a second in 30 days), do a huge shopping trip at BJs, go to the park out by Mom, and have dinner with Mom on Saturday. Friday was a crazy day, as it started with a trip to the vet for Bailey’s ear infection and was followed by a trip to the pediatrician for Carlo’s ear infection (he woke up Thursday night crying and stuck his finger in his ear while moaning “Boo, boo.” :-) ).  I’d taken a full day off last week, so it was fine.  Even before the trip to the pediatrician, I’d know it was going to be a piecemeal week for work and figured I’d just take the time off and not feel guilty about it or try and make it up.  After picking the kids up from school on Friday, we dropped Carlo’s script off, went to dinner at the Chinese buffet, went to the bookstore for some books (mostly for me, but the kids got to pick one each), then went back to the pharmacy for Carlo’s amoxicillin.  Sunday I read, the kids watched TV and played outside, I did boat loads of laundry and make a couple of meals.  We were busy enough on Friday and Saturday that the kids didn’t tubby until last right! A pretty good weekend.
