More Tidbits

  • Daddy had originally thought I was being a bit paranoid with the necklaces I’d made for the kids (pictures of all of us with labels on one side and on the otherside a brief explanation of why the child was in China, whether or not they speak English or Chinese and a phone number to call in an emergency).  Well, now, he is the one initiating putting the necklaces on all the time.  :-)
  • Peng really likes the coming home Barbie the hotel gave us (the White Swan has a deal with Mattel and gives every adoptive family a “coming home” Barbie — which is a very blonde, traditional Barbie with a dark haired, slightly Asian looking baby — the White Swan is the only place you can get them and apparently they sell for around $200 on eBay).  He took it out to dinner with us and played with it the whole time.  When bedtime came, he took her shoes off and put them in a little container and placed the Barbie, her baby, and the container with her shoes underneath his pillow.
  • The stroller we brought with us has just about bit the dust.  The handle bars have gotten bent down so they are very low to the ground.  I’m not sure where it happened, probably the airport or on an airplane.  It maybe that my kids are too big for it, now.  Sorry, Cindy, Maureen … it got great use, though, and had a long life.
  • My guides this time have been just fine, but I miss Sammy.  He was in a class of his own.
  • Nicky waves his hand back and forth to indicate he was done with something or “no”.  Well, Noelle has picked up on the habit and does the same thing, now.  Makes me chuckle to see it.
  • While we were out to lunch on Sunday (at Lucy’s, our home away from home), Peng insisted we start calling him Nicky.  He asked me to write out my name, Noelle’s name, Grandpa’s name and his name and now insists we call him Nicky.
