Poofs
One of Noelle’s favorite activities when we first got home was dumping out a bucket of poofs and sitting down in the middle of them to play. It turns out, it is still one of her favorite activities.
A room full of expensive toys and yet we spent a good 1/2 hour with the poofs and paper cups (the paper cups were my idea). It all started when she brought the egg carton out to me in the kitchen … “Momma’s eggs”. I explained it was for her and she could put something in it, maybe the poofs.
It was a good weekend. On Saturday we cleaned a bit, ran some errands, went out and saw Nanny McPhee together (she sat through the whole thing!), and hosted the Ratliffs for dinner. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to hear peals of laughter when Noelle up in her room with another kid. At one point, there was a big crash & boom and John says, “Now, if you throw it …”. Angie looks at Mark and says, I think you should go check it out.
We bummed around on Sunday. We did laundry and cooked and cleaned. We had to make a cherry pie with the cherry pie filling that the Ratliffs brought over to go with the cheesecake. We watched movies all afternoon and I did some work (got another deadline
).
Today was a day off for both of us. I did some work this morning and she got in my hair.
Then we went out and had lunch with Grandma via the toy store so that we could get cousin Jacob and friend Emily birthday presents. Noelle also got a big blue ball. Then it was home, the long way to try and get Noelle to stay asleep for awhile. Only, she woke up while I was in Hamilton and whined all the way home (she fell asleep whining. I should not have put the Chinese CD in, it always makes her sleep in the car restless. Some playing, a video, some dinner, some playing, books in Momma’s bed and asleep in her own bed.
The poofs happened at the end of the day. A good way to end the day and a good way to end the long weekend.
